GI Earthing Rod – Hot-Dip Galvanized Earthing Electrode
Our GI (Galvanized Iron) Earthing Rods, also known as earthing electrodes or stay rods, give electrical installations a safe, low-resistance path to the ground. The rod is driven vertically into the soil, where it carries fault currents, short-circuit currents and lightning surges away from equipment and people.
Each rod is made from solid iron or heavy-duty pipe and coated with zinc through hot-dip galvanization. This gives a matte silver finish and strong resistance to soil corrosion, so the rod stays stable underground for many years.
A welded flat plate (clamp flange) with pre-drilled holes is fixed at the top end. It lets you bolt the main earthing strip, earthing wire or lightning arrester lead securely and complete the grounding circuit without extra fittings.
How it works
The rod is driven deep into the soil until it reaches moist, conductive layers. The zinc coating protects the steel core, and the top flange gives a firm, low-resistance joint with the earthing conductor.
